Meet Enzo (on the right) and Portia (on the left).
My husband and my son James are both allergic to cats! Now before you start to think I'm a horrible person allowing them to struggle with puffy eyes, hives and itchy skin, Russian Blue cats are hypoallergenic. Which basically means people who are usually allergic to other cats aren't allergic to this breed!
ENZO is super friendly, and loves to visit everybody in our quiet little street. He's been known to go wandering into their houses and sleep on their couches. He loves being around people, and likes to follow us everywhere. This can be a problem when my youngest son Dylan scoots to school in the morning. We have to lock Enzo inside when Dylan leaves for school, otherwise Enzo would follow him the whole way!
He once tried to hitch a ride on the back of a builder's truck as it left our cul de sac. Luckily our kind neighbour saw, and chased after the truck before he ended up on the other side of town!Poor Enzo sometimes has a problem with feline acne (pimples) on his chin. I guess in cat years he is a teenager!
PORTIA is completely different to her older brother. She only gets halfway down the street before she is too scared to venture any further. She's an excellent hunter, and great at climbing trees. (Enzo is a bit clumsy and can't quite keep up with her.) She's also very smart at opening our kitchen door, and often has to help Enzo out if he wants to leave the living area and the door is closed.
The biggest problem with Portia is her addiction to nerf bullets and guitar picks. For some reason, she would far rather eat these strange items instead of catnip (which Enzo loves). Unfortunately she had a small piece of nerf bullet stuck in her intestines last year, and had to have surgery to get it removed. Now our nerf guns and bullets are stored up in the top of the boys' wardrobes!
